There is a tradition of making ajvar each September in Serbia. All households at that period of the year do the great job of preparing ajvar for winter season. Usually dozens of ajvar jars are made. Process of making goes through several phases itself: baking peppers on special stove, than peel off paprikas, after which they should be grounded. Afterwards a longer and patient cooking, everything is stored in jars and after short period ready to be eaten in various dishes . Yummy 🙂

  • In the afternoon, if time permits, after “hard“ work we are going to to some relaxing. Unique program “Swimming in the forest air“, held at nearby Obedska swamp, was developed according to the people`s deep biological connection with nature. Main idea is that strolling in the forest, on fresh air, without mobile phone and other digital devices, is form of prevention and it has healing effect. Our bodies and nervous systems need nature to reset and to balance themselves. It includes presentation of the oldest nature reserve in Europe (second in the world), easy stroll to the “forest bathroom“- a place for meditation and making in progress all 11 senses. Program is followed by boat ride and interesting guide`s story.

Owing to its exceptional natural values, Obedska swamp has been included in the Ramsar Convention list in 1977. It was the first site of such kind in our country. In 1989 it was declared the international Important Bird Area (IBA).
