If you ask a Serbs what is the best thing their country has to offer, for sure they will answer: food and hospitality. We are introducing you the tastes of west, east and central Serbia with best wines of the region.
-Arrival at Belgrade`s airport. Welcome by a local host and transfer to the hotel. Check-in and short refreshment.
-Belgrade city tour. Welcome dinner in the restaurant.
-Overnight in Belgrade.
-Breakfast at hotel.
-Departure to the southern part of the county. Our first stop is Oplenac hill and Topola town. Serbian state archives contain documents which show that grapes and wine were so abundant during the time of Duke Milos that there was not enough storage space for all of them. “Trijumf“ wine which is produced here is considered to be one of the best Serbian wines.
-Visit King Peter`s Endowment with beautiful St.George Church and King`s wine-cellar with degustation.
-Traditional lunch included.
-Visit another, privately owned vinery where we will have dinner and wine tasting.
-Transfer to the city of Kragujevac and overnight.
-Breakfast in hotel.
-Transfer to the Zupa wine region. Along the road we will visit Zica monastery.
-Arrival in Aleksandrovac. Lunch and wine tasting. The Zupa wine making region, called the “Serbian Champagne“ by the French consul Deco in 1904 lies in a valley surrounded by 4 mountains. The climate in the area is said to be very similar to the one in Bordeaux in France. Tamjanika and Prokupac, the oldest native Serbian grape varieties, are grown in Aleksandrovac. Together with native sort of wines, you will also taste some of the best specialties of this region. Maybe food will be served at very unusual place.
-Overnight in Sokobanja, well-known Serbian spa resort. Dinner in hotel. Usage of hotel`s spa center if time permits.
-Breakfast in hotel.
-Transfer to Knjazevac for visiting one representative wine cellar. Viticulture and winemaking in Knjazevac region dates back to Roman times. Writers from that period wrote that Roman legions used this wines to prepare themselves for military campaigns.
-Visit to Zavicaj Museum
-Lunch on the road included.
-Visit to Felix Romuliana historical site near city of Zajecar.
-Transfer to Negotin, dinner and overnight.
-Breakfast in hotel.
-Day full of excitement – we will pay a visit to Rajacke Pimnice, unique architectural complex comprising 270 wine cellars, which was constructed by wine-growers of this region in 18th century. They are all dug into the ground at least 2 meters deep. Pimnice were built using logs and cut stone. They are aligned and connected by streets, alleys and squares just like real houses.
-Lunch and wine degustation of several the most representative wines. All your senses will be satisfied because extraordinary food will be served.
-Return to Negotin and short city tour. Dinner in hotel.
-Overnight in Negotin.
-Breakfast at hotel.
-This day we are heading back to the capital of Belgrade. Along the road we will visit Ravanica monastery, have a lunch and some more.
-Arrival in Belgrade and farewell dinner in restaurant.
